Vanni Trail 2.0

On 26th October 2024, the Leo Club of the University of Vavuniya joined hands with the ZeroPlastic Community to launch Vanni Trail 2.0—a large-scale environmental initiative focused on plastic pollution prevention. Starting from the university’s main entrance and extending to the Pambaimadu Campus, over 100 passionate students, faculty, and local citizens united to clean and responsibly dispose of plastic waste. This project wasn’t just about cleanup—it was a powerful awareness drive promoting sustainable waste management and fostering community collaboration. By coordinating with local authorities and running pre-event campaigns, organizers ensured environmental safety and long-term impact. The success of Vanni Trail 2.0 showcased the strength of youth-driven activism and laid the groundwork for future trailblazing efforts in conservation.
