International Women’s Day Celebration 2025

The International Women’s Day Celebration 2025 was held on March 12, 2025, at the University of Vavuniya, organized by the Leo Club in collaboration with the Centre for Gender Equity and Equality (CGEE). Under the theme “Celebrating Strength, Empowering Change,” the event took place in front of the BS Dean’s Office and ran from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Led by Project Chair Leo Sakitha, the program featured a Women Empowerment Game Zone filled with interactive and symbolic activities, followed by a formal ceremony that included speeches, awards, cultural performances, and talent showcases. The celebration brought together students, faculty, staff, and invited guests to honor women’s contributions, promote gender equity, and inspire leadership and unity. The event was widely praised for its vibrant atmosphere, meaningful engagement, and its lasting impact on the university community.
