The Leo Club of the University of Vavuniya held its annual installation ceremony, Esperanza ’24, on October 13, 2024, at 12:30 PM in the TLH1 Hall of the Faculty of Technology. The event welcomed 50 participants and marked a significant moment for the club as new members were officially inducted. The ceremony began with the lighting of the traditional oil lamp, representing hope and unity. Leo Nishane Silva FLM, District President of Leo District 306B1, served as the Chief Guest and led the induction, delivering an inspiring address to the newly joined Leos. A key highlight of the event was the launch of the club’s official website, which will serve as a central platform for sharing updates, showcasing service projects, and engaging with the university and wider community. Distinguished guests included Professor Arulampalam Atputharajah, Vice Chancellor of the University of Vavuniya, and Leo Lion Dulini Cooray PFLM, Immediate Past Multiple District President. The event was documented by Hirusha Jayasundara, Assistant Secretary of the Leo Club, and reflected the club’s ongoing commitment to leadership, service, and community impact.
